Rod Taylor was born in Trench Town, Kingston in 1957. Well influenced by artists like Ken Boothe, Horace Andy (some may even confuse him), Delroy Wilson, John Holt. And Errol Dunkley.Him, Barry Brown and friends use to sing to the B-sides of the local jukebox tunes. Then in 1973 started a short lived group with Barry Brown & Johnny Lee called The Aliens. He cut his first tune "Bad Man Comes & Goes" for producer Ossie Hibbert in 1975 on the Ossie Sounds label, backed by Sly & Robbie, the Revolutionaries. Since then he has recorded a wealth of classic material for producers such as Bertram Brown, Prince Far I, Prince Hammer, Linval Thompson, Mikey Dread and many others. Famous worldwide for his cultural hits such as "Ethiopian Kings" & "His Imperial Majesty", Rod Taylor aka Rocky T has now been living in France for over 10 years and still produces wicked cultural tunes. And at 40 + years of age he sounds better than ever. Thanx to Roots From The Cold, Moa Anbessa was able to get a special from him for you this month
