RUB -A-DUB STYLE

When it comes to Rub-A-Dub, maybe the most applicable example to give to a dedicated reggae fanatic is that of MICHIGAN & SMILEY.

It all exploded in the late 70s at the legendary Studio One under the direction of the late great "Sir Clement Coxsone Dodd". The duo recorded their number 1 hit "Rub A Dub Style" over the original master tape of Alton Ellis' "I'm Just A Guy" but the hits are numerous with "Nice Up The Dance","Jah Army", "Diseases", "Sugar Daddy", "One Love Jamdown" and so on.
After a hill and gully ride through numerous Sunsplash performances in Jamaica and even the Black Echoes
Awards Show in the UK, General Smiley has recorded his first solo album entitled O.G.S. (Original General Smiley), that is to be a sure shot for any fan of the talended DJ.

Moa Anbessa Sounds was able to track down one of the voices behind the duo, and we were lucky enough to record a few exclusives with the man known as:
GENERAL SMILEY
